At the Serious Play Conference Europe in Mainz, we had the opportunity to present our new interactive installation, “Guestlings” to the public for the very first time.
Over the course of just two days, visitors created a total of 225 unique avatars.
Gradually, these avatars formed a digital guestbook that invited people to pause, discover small details, and enjoy playful interactions between the Guestlings.
The installation also sparked many spontaneous conversations and encounters. Visitors helped each other find their own Guestling on the façade, shared their creations, and encouraged others to design an avatar of their own.
One of the most rewarding aspects for us was watching how many individual contributions gradually came together to form a shared experience. Every Guestling was unique, but together they told the story of the conference and the people who attended it.
This combination of creativity, curiosity, and playful interaction is what makes Guestlings more than just an installation. It becomes a place where people can connect with one another in a simple, natural, and engaging way.
